20 Days Wildlife Safari in East Africa

This East African Safari vacation awards the opportunity to explore three countries (Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania) consecutively. Game viewing, gorilla trekking and cultural encounters are the major highlights of this Safari. It starts in Kenya and ends in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport.

Day1: Arrival – Hotel Transfer, Nairobi

Expect to be welcomed by our driver guide at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, transfer to your hotel of residence in Nairobi city to relax and unwind. You can stay at Laico Regency Hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi-Drive to Samburu National Reserve.

Very in the morning start the drive through central Kenya to Samburu National Reserve, you will arrive in time for lunch and you can have it at Samburu Serena Lodge or Shaba Sarova Lodge. You can do an evening game drive and expect to sight plenty of Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras and more. Stay at Sarova Shaba Lodge or Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Explore Samburu National Reserve.

A full day spent in Samburu exposes you to its wide range of wildlife species including the rarely seen Grevy’s Zebra, Blue-necked Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffes and Beisa Oryx. Moreover, you can visit the Samburu local village for cultural encounters. Other activities to engage in while in Samburu are: guide nature walks, camel riding and bird watching.

Day 4: Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru

Say bye to Samburu and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park including a stopover at the cascading Nyahiururu Thomson Falls. After proceeding with the Journey and you will arrive in the afternoon. On top of thousands of flamingos, a game drive reveals a diverse range of animals including black and white Rhino, Waterbucks, Reed bucks, Buffaloes, Leopards and more. You can stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru- Drive to Maasai Mara

After a great time in Lake Nakuru, depart in the morning and drive to the popularly known Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch. Check-in at Mara Simba Lodge or Mara Sopa Lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 6 & 7: Explore Maasai Mara National Park

You will spend two days in Maasai Mara National Reserve and are enough to take in all that is offered by this Wildlife packed spot. Apart from the great Wildebeest migration, you can sight other animals like the Big Fives, Giraffes, Bushbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeests and more. You can as well visit the Maasai village. You can stay at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 8: Maasai Mara National Reserve -Nairobi

After Maasai Mara, drive straight to Nairobi for an overnight stay. The drive takes about six hours. You can stay at Nairobi Safari Club

Day 9: Nairobi- Fly to Kilimanjaro

Early in the morning, have breakfast and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for the flight to Tanzania and you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be met and greeted by our representative in Tanzania. After transfer to the hotel for a night stay at Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge or Mount Meru Hotel.

Day 10: Kilimanjaro – Drive to Lake Manyara

Early in the morning, our guide will pick you from the hotel and transfer you up to Lake Manyara National Park. The main activity in this park is game driving exposing you to a number of Wild animals including the rare Tree Climbing Lions. Dinner and Overnight at Kirurumu.

Day 11: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

On day eleven, you will sign out of Lake Manyara National Park for the scenic drive to Serengeti National Park. Lunch is provided en-route. You will arrive in the late afternoon, relax at the lodge and later you can do an evening game drive. You can stay at Seronera Wildlife Lodge.

Day12: Explore Serengeti National Park

You will not stop admiring the bird’s eye views of large herds of Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Bushbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeests, Wildebeests, Gazelles and more. You can stay at Serengeti Sopa Lodge or Seronera Wildlife Lodge.

Day 13: Serengeti National Park – Drive to Ngorongoro Crater

Have a morning game drive in Serengeti, have lunch and after depart for Ngorongoro Crater for more sights of various Wildlife species that roam around this area. You can stay at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge.

Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater – More Game Viewing

Have breakfast and after descending deep into the Crater floor for breathtaking sights of more Wildlife species. After returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day15: Ngorongoro – Arusha town – Kampala

From Ngorongoro Crater, drive straight to Arusha town for en-route lunch at Impala Hotel. After, be at the airport for a flight to Entebbe International Airport – Uganda.

You will be welcomed by our representative at Entebbe Airport and transferred up to Hotel in Kampala. You can stay at Sheraton Hotel, Africana Hotel, Namirembe Guest House and more.

Day 16: Kampala – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early in the morning, check out at the Hotel in Kampala and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the Western part of Uganda.

On your way to Queen via Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara highway, an en-route stopover is included at the equator for an explanation about it and photographs. After proceeding with the Journey for another stopover in Mbarara to have your lunch.

After lunch, continue to Queen, you will arrive in the evening. Check-in at Bush lodge, Katara Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 17: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise

Early in the morning, start your game drive in the Kasenyi Plains to catch the Early risers including Buffaloes, Antelopes, Impala, Elephants, Kobs, leopards, Lions, Spotted hyenas and more.

After the 2–3-hour game drive, transfer straight to Mweya peninsula for Lunch at Mweya canteen. Later you will be part of the afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel.

Day 18: Transfer – Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha

From Queen, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the southern Ishasha sector route. On your way to Bwindi, you will sight the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. After the amazing sights proceed to Bwindi – Buhoma sector side and you will arrive in the evening. You can stay at Buhoma Lodge or Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 19: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi

Early in the morning, transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing conducted before the Gorilla trek. After all arrangements, the trekking journey starts to the Jungle in search of these apes.

You are allowed to spend only one hour with the Gorillas. After the one-hour session return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 20: Bwindi – Transfer to Kampala

After great moments in Bwindi, check out at the lodge and start the amazing journey back to Kampala. Stopover in Mbarara for lunch and after, proceed to Kampala. You will arrive in the evening, be at the airport in time for your return flight back home.
